SIAPA YANG MENGGENDONG MBAH SURIP KINI ?

Mbah Surip meninggal dunia. Kabar ini sangat mengejutkan, mengingat penyanyi berpenampilan rasta ini tengah berada dalam hingar bingar popularitas lewat lagu hit nya “Tak Gendong Kemana-mana”. Kematiannya yang terasa sangat mendadak ini konon akibat penyumbatan pembuluh darah di jantung. Seorang teman secara berseloroh mengatakan bahwa Mbah Surip “dibunuh oleh televisi”. Hahaha….. Pernyataan ini mungkin tak berlebihan, karena setiap hari, dari pagi hingga malam, mbah Surip wara-wiri di layar kaca, hingga hampir semua penonton tivi, mulai dari anak-anak hingga nenek-nenek hafal penampilannya dengan rambut gimbal ala Bob Marley dan topi rajut warna mencolok yang menjadi trade marknya. Sejak “Tak Gendong” meledak , praktis kesibukan Mbah Surip tak pernah surut. Tak ada hari yang dilalui tanpa show, konon setiap hari. Belum lagi undangan menjadi bintang tamu di banyak program televisi. Apalagi tersiar kabar bahwa Mbah Surip juga kadang bersedia hadir menghibur penggemarnya tanpa dibayar. Luar biasa. Ini tentu semakin menambah beban keletihannya. Antara kebaikan hati yang selalu ingin menyenangkan semua orang dan ketahanan fisik yang mulai renta, agaknya tak seimbang. Lagipula, penyanyi tua sederhana inipun tak punya konsep untuk gaya hidup sehat, terutama asupan makan minum sehari-hari. Tubuh tua, kesibukan ekstra padat, minim istirahat, plus gempuran berbungkus-bungkus rokok kretek dan konsumsi hampir sepuluh gelas besar kopi hitam sehari. Dapatkah logika tubuh menerima perlakuan ini? Ah. mbah Surip !

Kehidupan Mbah Surip, tak terelakkan lagi memang tengah diguncang shock popularitas yang nampaknya tak siap benar diterimanya. Maklumlah, sebagaimana kematiannya, popularitaspun dia dapatkan nyaris secara mendadak pula. Dengan kuantitas kesibukan yang luar biasa seperti itu dalam industri musik yang agresif dewasa ini, lazimnya Mbah Surip harus sudah memiliki tim manajemen yang mengontrol seluruh aktifitasnya secara profesional. Yang terjadi ia hanya mengandalkan pengelolaan pekerjaannya di tangan anaknya, Farid, yang notabene tak memiliki kapabilitas memadai menjadi manajer seorang artis yang tiba-tiba sangat terkenal dan kebanjiran job seperti Mbah Surip.

Jadi, istilah mbah Surip “dibunuh” televisi seperti guyon teman saya itu setelah difikir-fikir terasa menyakitkan hati. Kenapa kemarin-kemarin tak ada yang perduli untuk mengantisipasi hal ini, melengkapi eksistensi Mbah Surip di bisnis music ini dengan manajemen professional. Yah, ini bisnis bung. There’s no business like show biz. Dunia showbiz sudah menjadikan Mbah Surip yang lugu sebagai komoditas, dan banyak pihak mengeruk keuntungan dari kehadirannya. Mbah Surip telah menggendong nasib banyak orang dipundaknya yang rapuh Lalu siapa yang akan menggendongnya kini? I Love You Full mbah, terimakasih kehadiran singkatmu sangat menghibur.

Dream Theater merupakan band metal progressif asal New York, Amerika Serikat yang dibentuk pada September 1985 oleh John Myung, John Petrucci dan Mike Portnoy, dengan nama Majesty. Kelak nama Majesty mereka rubah karena mendapat tuntutan secara hukum dari sebuah band asal Las Vegas bernama sama. Akhirnya atas usulan ayah Mike Portnoy, mereka menggunakan nama baru, Dream Theater, yang sejatinya adalah nama sebuah bioskop di Monterey, California.

Saat membentuk Majesty, ketiganya masih menjadi mahasiswa di Berklee College of Music. Namun karena lebih berat dalam kegiatan bermusik, akhirnya ketiganya Drop Out, dan fokus 100% dalam band. Sampai saat ini setelah 22 tahun berkarier, Myung, Petrucci, dan Portnoy, masih tetap dalam formasi Dream Theater, yang kini ditambah James La Brie dan Jordan Rudess. Namun sebelum kedatangan La Brie dan Rudess, formasi band ini secara bergantian sempat beranggotakan Chris Collins (lead vocal), Kevin Moore (Keyboard), Charlie Dominici dan Derek Sherinian.

Kemahiran para awak band in sebagai instrumentalis sudah sangat terkenal, sehingga mereka sering terlibat dalam proyek musik musisi terkenal lainnya. Beberapa penghargaan pun sempat dianugerahkan pada mereka, terutama bagi Jordan Rudess, John Petrucci dan Mike Portnoy.

Kontrak pertama mereka berlangsung 23 Juni tahun 1988 dengan Mechanic Records untuk meluncurkan debut album. Saat itu formasi mereka terdiri dari John Myung, John Petrucci, Mike Portnoy, Charlie Dominici, dan Kevin Moore. Dalam album fenomenal mereka, Images and Words, Kevin James La Brie sudah masuk dalam formasi, yang direkrut sebagai vokalis pada Januari 1991, setelah ia meninggalkan band Glam metal Winter Rose di Canada. Setelah masuk Dream Theater, ia melepaskan nama depannya, Kevin, untuk menghindari kerancuan dengan nama Kevin Moore (keyboardist). Secara lengkap inilah 10 album yang telah mereka luncurkan: WHEN DREAM AND DAY UNITE (1989), IMAGES AND WORDS (1992), AWAKE (1994), FALLING INTO INFINITY (1997), METROPOLIS part 2:SCENES FROM A MEMORY (1999), SIX DEGREES OF INNER TURBULENCE (2002), TRAIN OF THOUGHT (2003), OCTAVARIUM (2005), SYSTEMATIC CHAOS (2007), BLACK CLOUDS an SILVER LININGS (2009). Selain itu mereka juga menerbitkan beberapa album live, yakni: Live at The Marquee, Once in A LIVETime, Live Scenes from New York, Live at Budokan, Score, dan Chaos and Motion 2007-2008. Album Images and Words yang memuat hits Pull Me Under dan Another Day, merupakan album yang berhasil mencapai penjualan tertinggi.

CHATTING WITH GOD

TUHAN : Kamu memanggilKu ?

AKU: Memanggilmu? Tidak.. Ini siapa ya?

TUHAN : Ini TUHAN. Aku mendengar doamu. Jadi Aku ingin berbincang- bincang denganmu.

AKU: Ya, saya memang sering berdoa, hanya agar saya merasa lebih baik. Tapi sekarang saya sedang sibuk, sangat sibuk.

TUHAN : Sedang sibuk apa? Semut juga sibuk.

AKU: Nggak tau ya. Yang pasti saya tidak punya waktu luang sedikitpun. Hidup jadi seperti diburu-buru. Setiap waktu telah menjadi waktu sibuk.

TUHAN : Benar sekali. Aktifitas memberimu kesibukan. Tapi produktifitas memberimu hasil. Aktifitas memakan waktu, produktifitas membebaskan waktu.

AKU: Saya mengerti itu. Tapi saya tetap tidak dapat menghindarinya. Sebenarnya, saya tidak mengharapkan Tuhan mengajakku chatting seperti ini.

TUHAN : Aku ingin memecahkan masalahmu dengan waktu, dengan memberimu beberapa petunjuk. Di era internet ini, Aku ingin menggunakan medium yang lebih nyaman untukmu daripada mimpi, misalnya.

AKU: OKE, sekarang beritahu saya, mengapa hidup jadi begitu rumit? TUHAN : Berhentilah menganalisa hidup. Jalani saja. Analisa-lah yang membuatnya jadi rumit.

AKU: Kalau begitu mengapa kami manusia tidak pernah merasa senang?

TUHAN : Hari ini adalah hari esok yang kamu khawatirkan kemarin. Kamu merasa khawatir karena kamu menganalisa. Merasa khawatir menjadi kebiasaanmu. Karena itulah kamu tidak pernah merasa senang.

AKU: Tapi bagaimana mungkin kita tidak khawatir jika ada begitu banyak ketidakpastian.

TUHAN : Ketidakpastian itu tidak bisa dihindari. Tapi kekhawatiran adalah sebuah pilihan.

AKU: Tapi, begitu banyak rasa sakit karena ketidakpastian.

TUHAN : Rasa Sakit tidak bisa dihindari, tetapi Penderitaan adalah sebuah pilihan.

AKU: Jika Penderitaan itu pilihan, mengapa orang baik selalu menderita?

TUHAN : Intan tidak dapat diasah tanpa gesekan. Emas tidak dapat dimurnikan tanpa api. Orang baik melewati rintangan, seharusnya tanpa merasa menderita. Dengan pengalaman itu, hidup mereka menjadi lebih baik bukan sebaliknya.

AKU: Maksudnya pengalaman pahit itu berguna?
TUHAN : Ya. Dari segala sisi, pengalaman adalah guru yang keras. Guru pengalaman memberi ujian dulu, baru pemahamannya.

AKU: Tetapi, mengapa kami harus melalui semua ujian itu? Mengapa kami tidak dapat hidup bebas dari masalah?

TUHAN : Masalah adalah Rintangan yang ditujukan untuk meningkatkan kekuatan mental (Purposeful Roadblocks Offering Beneficial Lessons (to)Enhance Mental Strength). Kekuatan dari dalam diri bisa keluar dari perjuangan dan rintangan, bukan dari kesenangan dan kemudahan.

AKU: Sejujurnya ditengah segala persoalan ini, kami tidak tahu kemana harus melangkah...

TUHAN : Jika kamu melihat keluar, maka kamu tidak akan tahu kemana kamu melangkah. Lihatlah ke dalam. Melihat keluar, kamu bermimpi. Melihat ke dalam, kamu terjaga. Mata memberimu penglihatan. Hati memberimu arah.
AKU: Kadang-kadang ketidakberhasilan membuatku menderita. Apa yang dapat saya lakukan?

TUHAN : Keberhasilan adalah ukuran yang dibuat oleh orang lain. Kepuasan adalah ukuran yang dibuat olehmu sendiri. Mengetahui tujuan perjalanan akan terasa lebih memuaskan daripada mengetahui bahwa kau sedang berjalan. Bekerjalah dengan kompas, biarkan orang lain berkejaran dengan waktu.

AKU: Di dalam saat-saat sulit, bagaimana saya bisa tetap termotivasi?

TUHAN : Selalulah melihat sudah berapa jauh saya berjalan, daripada masih berapa jauh lagi saya harus berjalan. Selalu hitung yang harus kau syukuri, jangan hitung apa yang tidak kau peroleh.
AKU: Apa yang menarik dari manusia?

TUHAN : Jika menderita, mereka bertanya "Mengapa harus aku?". Jika mereka bahagia, tidak ada yang pernah bertanya "Mengapa harus aku?".
AKU: Kadangkala saya bertanya, siapa saya, mengapa saya disini?

TUHAN : Jangan mencari jawab siapa kamu, tapi tentukanlah ingin menjadi apa kamu. Berhentilah mencari tahu mengapa saya di sini. Ciptakan tujuan itu. Hidup bukanlah proses pencarian, tapi sebuah proses penciptaan.

AKU: Bagaimana saya bisa mendapat yang terbaik dalam hidup ini?
TUHAN : Hadapilah masa lalu-mu tanpa penyesalan. Peganglah saat ini dengan keyakinan. Siapkan masa depan tanpa rasa takut.

AKU: Pertanyaan terakhir. Seringkali saya merasa doa-doaku tidak dijawab.

TUHAN : Tidak ada doa yang tidak dijawab. Seringkali jawabannya mendapat penundaan untuk menunggu waktu yang tepat, atau digantikan dengan yang lebih baik. AKU: Terima Kasih Tuhan atas chatting yang indah ini.

TUHAN : Oke. Teguhlah dalam iman, dan buanglah rasa takut. Hidup adalah misteri untuk dipecahkan, bukan masalah untuk diselesaikan. Percayalah padaKu. Hidup itu indah jika kamu tahu cara untuk hidup.

INSPIRASI TENTANG CINTA

LOVING AND UNDERSTANDING SOMEONE TENDERLY

Manusia butuh dua hal dasar, mencintai dan dicintai. Setiap hari orang mencari bahkan memburu cinta. Karena tak pernah ada orang yang bisa melepaskan diri dari keajaiban dan pesona cinta.
Namun kita tidak akan pernah bisa meminta atau memaksa orang lain untuk mencintai kita.
Satu-satunya cara yang bijak untuk dicintai adalah dengan melupakan keinginan kita untuk dicintai dan mulai mencintai orang lain.

1. Mencintai berarti merindukannya.
Kerinduan kita menyiratkan betapa berartinya orang yang kita cintai bagi kita sehingga kepergiannya membuat kita merasa kehilangan, betapa kita ingin selalu bersamanya, dan betapa waktu terasa lama ketika orang yang kita cintai tidak berada disisi kita.
Ungkapkanlah kerinduan kita ketika tidak bertemu dalam waktu yang cukup lama atau terpisah dengan jarak yang cukup jauh.
Jangan tahan rasa rindu kita, dan jangan biarkan dia menanti ungkapan kerinduan kita.

2. Mencintai berarti memotivasinya.
Doronglah orang yang kita cintai untuk meraih cita-citanya, untuk bangkit dari kegagalan, serta berani mengambil keputusan penting yang sudah ditundanya.

3. Mencintai berarti memaafkannya.
Karena orang yang kita cintai juga seorang manusia biasa yang bisa salah, maka pemberian maaf adalah salah satu bukti cinta kita padanya.
Belajarlah untuk mudah memaafkan orang yg kita cintai setiap kali dia melakukan kesalahan-kesalahan kecil yang tidak prinsipil.
Bahkan untuk kesalahannya yang cukup besar pun kita perlu memaafkannya setelah persoalannya dibicarakan secara terbuka.
Menyimpan kesalahan akan merusak hubungan cinta yang sudah lama terjalin.

4. Mencintai berarti menyadarkannya.
Meskipun cinta sejati menutupi banyak kesalahan, namun cinta sejati juga mengkoreksinya, memperingatkan dan menegurnya bila dianggap perlu.
Ketika orang yang kita cintai melakukan hal-hal yang buruk.
Ketika dia hendak mengambil keputusan yang bodoh dan berbahaya, saat itulah kita perlu menyadarkannya.

5. Mencintai berarti peka terhadap keinginan dan kebutuhannya.
Kalau orang yang kita cintai adalah seorang yang terbuka, kita akan lebih mudah memahaminya.
Namun bila dia tertutup, sebaiknya sering-seringlah bertanya kepadanya.
Jangan sampai tanpa sadar kita mengulangi kebiasaan yang dibencinya, tapi jarang melakukan apa yang disukainya.

Berterima kasih atas kerelaannya menjadi orang yang kita cintai, atas kesetiaannya serta pengorbanannya.
Terimalah dengan penuh penghargaan ungkapan kasih sayang yang ditunjukkannya dalam bentuk apapun.
Jangan mematikan gairah cintanya dengan sikap dingin dan pasif.
Ungkapkanlah rasa terima kasihmu dengan ucapan yang manis, senyuman serta pelukan.

8. Mencintai berarti selalu berusaha untuk membahagiakannya.
Ketika kita ikut andil dalam membuat orang yg kita cintai bahagia, maka kebahagiaannya akan menjadi sebagian dari kebahagiaan kita.

9. Mencintai berarti memberinya kebebasan untuk mengungkapkan perasaan-perasaannya , termasuk keluhan, kemarahan , harapan dan kekecewaannya.
Jadilah pendengar yang baik agar kita bisa lebih memahami isi hati dan masalah yang dihadapi oleh orang yang kita cintai.
Jangan biarkan orang yang kita cintai memendam perasaannya karena merasa malu dan segan.Jangan biarkan Orang yang kita cintai membungkam mulutnya karena merasa takut Jangan biarkan Orang yang kita cintai selalu mengalah karena ingin menghindari konflik dengan kita.

10. Mencintai berarti menghargainya dan membuatnya merasa puas menjadi dirinya.
Hargailah Orang yang kita Cintai sebagai pribadi yang istimewa.
Buatlah hatinya selalu berbunga-bunga dengan pujian dan kekagumanmu padanya. Jangan pernah merendahkan dan menghinanya, meskipun dengan alasan apapun.

LOVE WILL COME IN THE RIGHT TIME

Alkisah, di suatu pulau kecil tinggallah berbagai benda abstrak ada CINTA, kesedihan, kegembiraan, kekayaan, kecantikan dan sebagainya. Mereka hidup berdampingan dengan baik. Namun suatu ketika, datang badai menghempas pulau kecil itu dan air laut tiba-tiba naik dan akan menenggelamkan pulau itu.

Semua penghuni pulau cepat-cepat berusaha menyelamatkan diri. CINTA sangat kebingungan sebab ia tidak dapat berenang dan tidak mempunyai perahu. Ia berdiri di tepi pantai mencoba mencari pertolongan. Sementara itu air semakin naik membasahi kakinya.

Tak lama CINTA melihat kekayaan sedang mengayuh perahu, "Kekayaan! Kekayaan! Tolong aku!," teriak CINTA

"Aduh! Maaf, CINTA!," kata kekayaan "Aku tak dapat membawamu serta nanti perahu ini tenggelam. Lagipula tak ada tempat lagi bagimu di perahuku ini."

Lalu kekayaan cepat-cepat pergi mengayuh perahunya. CINTA sedih sekali, namun kemudian dilihatnya kegembiraan lewat dengan perahunya.
